COLLAGE JACKET

Normally, production is the most expensive part of a garment. By doing the work yourself, the jacket becomes affordable and you know for certain it was made under ethical conditions. And because your own time and care go into it, an emotional bond with the garment naturally follows.

During the Covid lockdowns, I developed a sewing kit containing everything you need to make a worker jacket, including high-quality remnant fabrics from the industry.

Makers shared their projects and exchanged tips with one another, creating a genuine sense of community. This project showed me how design can connect.
